Sérignan is nestled at the heart of the Golfe du Loin, between Cap d'Agde, Canigou and the Cevennes. It benefits from its exceptional geographic position, standing close to the river Orb and just a short distance from the Mediterranean the town has retained all of its original charm.
This charismatic town is strikingly modern yet firmly rooted in history, with an outstanding rich cultural programme. The Languedoc-Roussillon regional museum of contemporary art opened here in 2010. The La Cigalière concert hall offers a programme of concerts, theatre and comedy for all ages. The Chateau Vargoz is dedicated to local artists and hosts a rich exhibitions programme for all forms of artistic expression.
Sérignan also has an exceptional architectural and natural heritage. The collegiate church Notre Dame de Grâce is one of the finest examples of biterroise (Beziers) gothic architecture. The Orpellières nature reserve, with its banks of dunes and vast salt marshes, is one of the rare areas on the Languedoc coast still in its rare natural state.
Sérignan, is also known for its wine makers, boutiques, markets and professional tourism providers all dedicated to providing a quality welcome for visitors. Together they all play an active role in city life and sense of communal well being.
Nature, heritage and traditional lands make Sérignan a 'must' for visitors looking for a change of scenery, relaxation and leisure whatever the season.
